Well well.
The greatest news so far: I GOT MY 400D!

It definitely kicks some ass, but I'm bound to despair someday with what to buy.
To zoom, or not to zoom,
to focus close, or not to.
That is a damn TOUGH question.
Anyway, since I am just sitting around at school with abolutely NOTHING to do other than wishing my girflfriend good luck for her exam, why don't I ask you guys?
So far I am equipped with the standard kit lens (18-55) and an EF 35-135 USM 4-5.6. It's pretty old, and it has a LOUSY minimum focus distance, but it's Canon, and the AF is damn fast.
But I'd require a bit more zoom, just as I qould love to get into Macro business.
The thing is just, as usual. Money. Does. Not. Grow. On. Trees. Period.
Right, so now about my question. I spotted a Tamron 55-200 LD DiII wiht a Maximum ratio of 1:3.5. What I don't like about it is that is has a plastic mount, and the AF is rather slow.
Plus, it doesn't add THAT much of zoom to what I've already got, though it was definitely fun when I tried it out.
There also is a 70-300 from Tamron with a Maximum Ratio of 1:2. Metal mount for all I know. AF just the same.
The thing is. Would you recommend exchanging the Canon, or buyingt one of the Tamrons, or save up to something more high quality?
Oh and by the way, congrats if you made it this far. I appreciate the time you took

Now it'd be SO kind if you could help me...
Check out (after checking me

):
Best regards
Nils
